Stephen Higgins serves as a Missionary Archdeacon within Reach, a senior presbyter entrusted with the oversight, development, and ordering of missional initiatives under the direction of the Missional Council. His ministry reflects a steady commitment to Christ, His Church, and the faithful proclamation of the Gospel among the vulnerable and overlooked.

Formed from an early age by parents who instilled faith, hope, and love, Stephen was led toward baptism, devotion to Holy Scripture, and serious theological study. He maintains a disciplined spiritual life marked by prayer, repentance, and obedience to the Word of God. Jeremiah 1:7–10 has long shaped his sense of calling, reminding him that the Lord sends and sustains His servants for appointed work.

Since 2001, Stephen has focused significant energy on confronting human trafficking and responding to the global refugee crisis. Through advocacy, education, partnership, and prayer, he seeks to defend the exploited and bring the light of Christ into places of profound darkness.

Stephen and his wife, Laurie, founded Missio Christus Global out of a shared burden for children living in hard and impoverished places. Together they carry a deep and abiding passion for the spiritual, physical, and educational flourishing of children. Under his leadership as Global Executive Director, the ministry advances holistic, Christ-centered mission initiatives serving children, young adults, and families in contexts of extreme poverty.

Stephen works closely with ministry leaders, boards, and global partners to ensure accountability, sustainability, and doctrinal faithfulness. His leadership embodies the missional ethos of Reach: courageous witness, covenantal empowerment, and communion in Christ. He serves not as a prince, but as a shepherd, equipping others to proclaim the Gospel and extend the Kingdom of God in every sphere of life.
